I did not know much about sports car and never intended to know anything until last year. After saving up enough money I looked around and decided to check out a few beamers. Spoke to a local dealership and one of their reps asked me to come down to take a look at their cars. They had bunch of different brands but Mazda RX8 stood out clearly and I just fell in love at first site:). It was way over my budget but I still decided to go ahead with it and I absolutely don’t regret my decision at all. I am an RX8 cars enthusiast now.
RX8 is the successor to the RX7 and it is powered by a rotary engine. I own a 2004 model that is exactly when RX8 began North American sales. The powerful rotary engine and sleek design makes the driving experience one of a kind. Suicide doors gives it an amazing look and make it even more attractive. The engine revs like a beast and goes past 8,000 rpm. The fastest I have gone so far is about 110mph but they say it can go up to 146mph and It goes 0 to 62mph in 6.4 seconds.
Don’t get this If you think you will use it as an everyday commute car. Let me tell you RX8 is a gas guzzler. It says its 1.3-litres is a bit of a dodge really. It’s a rotary engine that has three chambers, so it means Its more like a 2.6-litre.
The reason I made an RX8 cars site is to simply learn as much as I can about this awesome machine and share it with the world. I will be blogging about any accessories I add to my car or find it interesting(even If I can’t afford it:)). I have a section where we I will discuss the problems that I had to go through as a new driver and the solutions(The most evident one is the engine flooding issue. Will explain it in my next blog). I would like to have a nice collection of RX8 kits, the video collection of RX8 drifts and much much more.
